Addiction Treatment Women's Group on Long Island

Addiction Treatment on Long Island - Women's Group

While Long Island Center for Recovery provides inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment for both men and women, we do offer a women’s group where women’s issues are discussed and the individualized gender-specific therapeutic treatment is developed for each one of our female clients.

Long Island Center for Recovery Women’s Group offers an atmosphere of acceptance, hope, and support, creating the foundation needed for women to work through their challenges in a positive manner. Our women’s group is led by experienced addiction treatment professionals and our therapeutic treatment follows a non-confrontational approach based on awareness and understanding.

The highlights of our women’s treatment issues and needs include:

  • The role of relationships—including family and partners
  • Parenting issues (including pregnancy and children)
  • Co-occurring disorders (including anxiety, mood, and eating disorders); and
  • Trauma-related issues (sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, domestic violence, etc.)

In addition to women’s group therapeutic services, women attending treatment at Long Island Center for Recovery take part on all traditional and holistic therapeutic services as well as recreational activities pertaining to their treatment program. We offer many levels of care based on the individual needs of each woman. Outpatient services are also available to those women in the community whose addiction meets the criteria for outpatient programs.
